Elementary Health & Physical Education
Basketball Shooting
Elementary Physical Education
(Kines 395A)

One of my favorite lesson plans I created for Elementary Physical Education focused on basketball shooting. It was made specifically for 5th graders, but it can be altered slightly to suit any grade level.

Soccer Dribbling, Passing, and Receiving
Elementary Physical Education
(Kines 495A)

During my student teaching, I taught soccer dribbling, passing, and receiving. I went over the activity cues and facilitated numerous games/activities. I also created a formal assessment for this lesson.

Soccer
Elementary Physical Education
(Kines 464)

My classmate, Rodney and I collaborated on this fun soccer lesson plan! It is full of unique ways to get elementary-aged students to learn important skills in soccer.

The Fitness Five
Elementary Physical Education
(Kines 495A)

My Elementary Physical Education cooperating teacher teaches his students about the Fitness Five (safety, physical activity, hygiene, sleep, and nutrition). I created this lesson plan to teach the students about the Fitness Five, and participate in a fun fitness circuit.

Unit Plan
Elementary Physical Education
(Kines 495A)

For my unit plan, I chose to plan a fitness unit plan for elementary Physical Education. I started off with The Fitness Five. Then we dive into the Physical Activity portion of the Fitness Five with a Fitness Circuit, Individual Fitness Activities, Team Fitness Activities (to promote collaboration), and developmentally appropriate Fitness Games to finish off the unit.

Secondary Health & Physical Education
Adapted Abdominals Lesson
Secondary Physical Education
(Kines 400)

I worked one-on-one with a high school student with an intellectual disability. I loved creating fun Physical Education lessons that taught him a fun way to work out and be healthy. This was one of his favorite lessons!

Prescription Drug Prevention
Secondary Health
(Kines 468W)

I created a Middle School Health lesson plan for prescription drug prevention. This lesson utilized the skill of accessing information. I also created a few worksheets to go along with the lesson plan.

Handball
Secondary Physical Education
(Kines 464)

I created a Handball lesson plan for 8th grade students. The goals of the lesson were for the students to learn how to throw and dribble the handball before playing with a team at the end of the lesson.

Scope & Sequence
Secondary Physical Education
(Kines 395A)

My classmate Lexi and I were assigned to create a scope and sequence lesson plan for our class at Penn State. We chose to focus our project on a fitness and a teaching games for understanding model. The scope and sequence is a thirty-six week plan that includes five units and additional fitness testing for a high school setting.

Cardiovascular Fitness
Secondary Physical Education
(Kines 495A)

I created a Cardiovascular Fitness lesson with an emphasis in Teamwork. I started the lesson with my version of "Builders and Bulldozers" called "Wreck-it-Ralphs" and "Fix-it-Felixes." I then taught the students how to find their carotid and radial pulses. I ended the lesson with a Fitness Relay.

First Aid Lesson
Secondary Health Education
(Kines 495A)

I created a Middle School Health lesson plan for First Aid. The students and I built a First Aid Kit by writing an item or two on a sticky note (that belongs in a first aid kit) and adding it to the First Aid Kit on the board. I also taught a safe glove removal activity. Each student had to take off their disposable gloves without getting the fake blood on their hands (dish soap with red food dye)!
